I’m now at Book Cafe spending some alone time on this beautiful afternoon, which also happened to be my off day! Just as you’re wondering where I’m working at, I’m currently a barista at Made By Lauren Jasmine , also handling all their social media aspects like Facebook and Instagram. I’ll be starting school again in August, am pursuing a New Media degree in National University of Singapore (NUS). Is it just me or there is this whole trend of café hopping, which happens to go viral on Instagram with all the food pictures, hashtags and all. Nevertheless, if you can’t beat them, join them, hahaha what’s more trying out new food and exploring new place!
It ain’t my first time, I’ve brought my groupmates here for project meeting, my boyfriend (Samuel) & I used to come here for drinks & magazines, chilling the day away, me studying for my exams, him enjoying his favorite hot chocolate! This is a very friendly, feels-like-home café. They have free wi-fi and even power points, a very cosy ambience, alfresco area for smokers, friendly staff (who go the extra mile to get plug extensions for you if all power points are used, sharing is caring!) and no doubt, shelves filled with magazines, story books. It’s just something here that keeps me coming back. I’ll travel from Pasir Ris (where I stay) to Clarke Quay then a 15-minutes walk just to have a cup of Iced Honey Lemon and spend my afternoon reading a book, clearing some emails, do some online shopping, tumblr, ideas brainstorming, somehow the creative juices flow.
Memories bring you to places, places bring back memories. Take your off day or weekends and go somewhere that holds fond memories close to you, to relive them or who knows, create new ones? I’d like to hear your experiences/places, after all, like I said, sharing is caring (;
